Father to the fatherless, defender of widows — this is God, whose dwelling is holy. God places the lonely in families.

Heavy Hearts

Our hearts are a little heavy tonight. Last night we received confirmation that Esther's name was in fact printed in the Le Moniteur as we had discovered in September. Yet, her name was printed incorrectly. Due to this misprint we now have to get it fixed and reprinted all over again. This is likely what has caused and is currently causing this lengthy delay. We are frustrated and saddened to hear of this mistake that will add months onto our adoption process. But there isn't anything we can do about it so we continue to trust that God is in control. We know that He holds our sweet little girl in the palm of His hand. We love her to the moon and back.... but He loves her more!

  1. I know this is an old thread, but I was just wondering how it worked out for you to get your daughter's name re-printed for you to move forward. Do you recall how long it took for you get out of IBESR from the time you received dispensation? We are in the same boat, I think...with a possibly name error. =(

  2. So sorry to hear that you're going through a similar situation:( It was a bit hard to figure out due to lack of communication. We saw that we had been published online in May but weren't notified until July by our orphanage director. We went to court in December. We couldn't go to court until her name was corrected so from the time it was first published online til our court date was 7 months. But don't be discouraged. The lengthy wait could have been for a number of reasons. We don't really know all the specific details. And we're not sure exactly when things were corrected either. We're currently dealing with another mistake in the after court paperwork... this mistake will hopefully be fixed quicker but will cost a small fortune! We've been stuck for 16 weeks since court... yuck! I'm not a fan of mistakes these days:( Hoping yours is resolved quickly!
